The importance of real hold-in-your-hands photographs

It’s safe to say that I’ve always been a sentimentalist. Even now, I have collections of random objects from my childhood, each with a special memory or story behind them. This is why I’m so passionate about printing your images. We live in such a digital age, that many people receive their beautiful photos through and do nothing with them other than posting them online. Of course there is nothing wrong with this, but I believe that your images have a much higher value than that.

What would you rather see, a beautiful photo of your child on a hand held screen, or it printed and framed on your living room wall for you to appreciate every day? For me, it’s a no brainer!

It’s so important to me that after each shoot experience the client takes home physical photos. Therefore, I have introduced a series of new Sunlight Photography packages that include prints as standard. These prints will become keepsakes which will stay with you as your family grows.

You can have a look at the different portrait packages available here. Feel free to contact me with any questions!

MEMORIES ARE THE IDENTITY OF OUR ARCHITECTURE

Life passes by in the blink on an eye, and therefore it’s so important to preserve every moment possible. The birth of a newborn baby is so exciting, but the experience rushes past so fast that often people forget to take a pause and capture those memories before they are gone for good.

As a photographer, I understand the importance of capturing those little details that will stay with you forever. Those tiny little toes, soft rolls and furrowed brows will not be around for long. I have so many people getting in touch to book a shoot of their months old little one, who always mention the regret of not booking a newborn shoot when their baby was first born.

I can’t stress enough how treasured the photos from your shoot will be. It’s so important for your baby to grow up seeing those beautiful family memories, surrounding them with the love they deserve from the day they are born.

I recommend booking in your newborn shoot whilst you’re still pregnant to ensure you don’t miss out. The ideal timeframe for a newborn shoot is when your baby is between 5 to 14 days old. If your baby is older than this then do not fret, we will still be able to capture some gorgeous images of them that will be a lasting reminder of this wonderful stage of their lives.

BALLET, BABIES & EVERYTHING INBETWEEN

This blog has been a long time coming! I can’t promise how regularly it will get updated as life can be hectic, but I’m keen to keep a record of my photographic journey not only for myself, but to share with you.

Firstly, a little about me – I’m Suzi, a photographer based in Bristol. After studying photography at uni I specialised in dance photography, and more recently, newborns and portraiture. Anyone who knows me well will know how much I love to be busy, and focusing on both dance and newborn/portrait photography does just that! Consistently shooting two completely different genres keeps me inspired and motivated to push my work further, constantly striving to improve.

It’s always made sense for me to have two separate websites, one for dance and one for portraits, as each side of my work is so different from the other. I’m excited for this blog to be a place where the two can combine, to show the variety of my day to day life. This blog will be a platform for me to share my thoughts, recent images and business updates. Starting a business on your own can be daunting at times, but I’m so excited to see where this journey will take me!
